History Situated outside of Everdawn Jeb was born on a plot near a wealthy vampire estate. Both his parents were Macera Avian he carried on their genes and was always a strong babe who suffered not from common colds. Happy and healthy he would only know from age what burdens would be called upon him.
As Jeb grew, his family would take him a short ways to their work. His father Rodrick and mother Issar worked for the noble vampires they lived in proximity to, they were known as servants to the elder vampires and did menial tasks around the estate. Often the avian child was left in the garden to play by himself, although his parents kept tabs on him he was free to do as he pleased, save that he didn't get himself in trouble. There Jeb met the princess of the house, knowing not of his position to her they played together.
She would often scare him in their games, pretending to bite him. When he cried she was taken aback, the little princess didn't mean to scare him that badly. Instead the vampire princess made a promise, never to hurt or bite him never to turn him into what she was by nature. Now it was Jeb's turn to be surprised at a loss of what to say, the only things he could think of at his tender age was to protect this girl. And that is just what he promised, "I will protect you forever" he blurted out. She was unimpressed but he meant what he said. And would prove it in years to come.
Shortly after the princess's parents took her away, "don't play with the hired hand's" they would say. "Someone of your stature should not fraternize with the commoners unless you have to". Just like that Jeb was alone again but he found comfort in knowing he'd made a new friend. Growing up fast he learned his place on the estate, what he must do to survive and live a 'happy' life.
Filling out into a tall, strong, handsome young male Avian Jeb took over more and more of his parents responsibilities. They could never stop serving the vampire nobles but he did so much that not even they could complain at his parents extended absences from work. He kept true to his word, when he started work he was to stay away from the princess. Any chance he got he would flee from her advances, keeping mostly to himself save times when his work demanded he speak with the other staff.
The one task he found himself enjoying most was gardening, finding he had a innate knack for it. Jeb could bend the flowers to his will, and they were the better for it. The garden grew and grew, flourishing under his tender care. All free chances he got were spent tending the garden, Jeb loved the flowers all their colors and smells. They seamed to stretch out to him so he got into the habit of talking as he cared for them. They were such good listeners, and never asked more than what he could give.
One night Jeb had left his house at the edge of the estate to lounge in the garden. It was a clear night and perfect weather for stargazing, he'd thought everyone was asleep. Never had he imagined a chance meeting with the princess. Startled as he almost ran into her, the ruffled avian made great haste off in the opposite direction. Pretending he hadn't seen her sneaking out when she should be cozy snug in her bed. But he couldn't blame her, he'd left his own warm bed for the slightly chilled night comforted only by the twinkling stars and beautiful bounty of the garden.
From that night on Jeb had to spend most of his time dodging the princess as her advances became more attentive. Anything he could use to get away, pretend his parents called him. Used times when others stopped her for a moment, even ducking out of sight and making a quick getaway. He even had to take to the air once or twice, this got tiresome and even his parents noticed Jeb's growing fatigue when he'd came home from work.
Turning 18 came with some ups and downs, he had filled out quite allot and was just about full grown. All at the ripe height of 5'8'', later he would hit a growth spurt and shoot up 4 more inches but not for a few years to come. At this time he was completely devoted to his work, the garden was his life. Not once had he ventured off the the compound, content with life the way it was he needed nothing more then his family and the garden.
Life stayed its coarse for another two more years, he'd all but ruled out never venturing to the outside world till his mother got sick. His father stayed day and night by her side, the only one able bodied in his house, was him. He'd been tasked with all the chores around the estate along with fetching medicines his mother desperately needed. This went on for months with no sign of recovery from her. He became more worn down by the day, till the only time he could go pick up her medicine was late at night.
One night on his way to pick up his mothers medicine, he ran into something small and excited, bewildered the young avian took a moment to register that the small thing he'd bumped into was the princess. His adrenaline spiked as he realized his mistake, he'd dropped the ball and lowered his guard making this blunder happen, however despite how quick Jeb was the princess was quicker. And in his moment of weakness she'd acted, grabbing his arm and dragging the protesting avian boy to a party she had snuck out to go attend. He was quickly overwhelmed by her personality and caved under her persistent requests. Just one drink he told himself, he'd been working so hard he could afford to relax just a small but, right? Wrong, just one small drink was all it took. The amount of stress that drained off of him after just one drink was just to good of a feeling that he had another, and another, and another. By the end of the night he could barely stand, using the princess as a crutch they stumbled back to the estate. Jeb knew not where he was, only hearing loud crashing noises and some very angry voices. Mumbling something of he needed to get home and that the princess should get to bed he soon passed out. The next morning he awoke in his own bed with a very worried and angry father standing over him. Oh man did his head hurt from what he couldn't quite remember but Jeb knew that he could not let it affect him.
Thankfully he always went out days before to get his mothers meds, thus his one nights blunder did not hurt her. Later when he managed to get back onto the estate from another run to the city he'd find out what had happened. Vowing to be better and turn the princess on a more straight road he would say and do things that would help guide her on better listening terms with everyone. And alas it worked! later he was confronted by her parents that he would keep his job and right to live on the estate as long as he kept their daughter under control. This was a no brainier for him, he bowed and accepted his task without hesitation.
After this they became fast friends, he was allowed to hang out with her more instead of constantly avoiding her. This released a bunch of stress from his shoulders, it was easier this way. A few years later they figured out who each was to the other and their bond deepened even further. Whenever she needed it he would whisk her away, he was her proverbial knight. At last Jeb was able to uphold his promise to the Vampire Princess of his past.
This went on for many years till they both had reached a rich age of 40. He was full grown by this time and she had filled out into a stunning woman. As such her parents devised a scheme to gain some power in the more well known nobles of the area. This would come in the form of an arranged marriage to a young prince of Everdawn. She however was not keen on that in the least, when the deadline of the ceremony was set for a few months later she retaliated. Much to everyone's dismay this came in the form of her starvation.
The princess began fasting with no real sign of stopping, she started showing the first signs of turning Nosferatu. Red eyes and enlarged fangs not to mention she became sickly and lean. It tore him apart to see her like this. So when he noticed her running on the day of the ceremony he rallied to her side. Holding her slight frame close he took to the sky his strong wings carrying them a great distance before the rest of the estate knew what had happened.
Close to Everdawn city he felt a pain in his neck, thinking it was just a strained tendon he kept up his flight. Knowing she needed to get as far away from the estate as possible. Much after that was a blur, in and out of coherency he rolled and tossed in a bed unfamiliar to him. He had dark dreams, filled with blood and rage. His first memories after waking were of blood, lots of blood. And a growing hunger he knew not what to do with. Many days later he would come back to his senses, Drenched by something sticky and a bad taste in his mouth. (Note: In the time after he awakes Jeb turns and feeds off of Mora the Vampire princess that changed him. As well as an elderly Elf that takes the two in after their subsequent crash into his house. From there he, in a blood rage, takes off to drain and murder some of the other members of Everdawn's residence. When Jebediah comes to he doesn't remember any of this only noticing that Mora is not present and that he is now a Vampire.)
The princess was no where to be found, and after many more hazy days filled with hunger and blood he came to realize what had happened. She had bit him, she had broken her promise leaving him to fend for himself. He would grow dark with rage, not knowing how to contain it he let his emotions rule him. He became what he dreaded so many many ears ago when still just a tender young Avian scared by the small teeth of a princess.
Deep down in the the dark abyss Jebediah had been reborn in blood, fear and hate, a fully fledged Monster.
